I’ve photographed musicians for forty years. The oldest in this section dates from 1963 (Mississippi John Hurt) and the most recent are from 2004 (Roy Hargrove and Dr. Lonnie Smith). In forty years, I’ve taken many thousands of photographs, black and white and color. Some of these photographs, related to specific projects, books, recordings, or music festivals can be seen at other locations on this website, such as The Ghosts Of Harlem, The Floating Jazz Festival or The Oslo Jazz Festival. The photographs included here are a few of my favorites that have are not prominently featured elsewhere, even though a few of them can be found in other sections.
