The Floating Jazz Festivals 1983 - 2002

The first Floating Jazz Festival was held aboard the S/S Norway in September 1983, and has been produced annually or semi-annually ever since on various ships, but the S/S Norway or Queen Elizabeth 2 have been the primary venues. The most legendary figures in jazz appeared at the festival and, as co-producer of the event, with Shelley Shier, I had unlimited access to all the musicians and performances. In fact, we structured all the performances and selected all the musicians. I had a camera with me at all times, and the file contains thousands of photographs, black and white and color. These are some of my favorites.
